Third party service providers
To best serve you, we may need to share your personal data with some of our service providers that provide support services to us or that help us market our services. We enter into contract with our service providers which imposes obligations on both parties to respect the security and integrity of your personal data and treat it in accordance with the law. These third-party service providers fall into the following categories:
• Those that help us with IT technologies or support (e.g. data storage);
• We use social media site LinkedIn or online advertising platforms Google Adwords for marketing purposes. You can read both privacy policies for LinkedIn and Google Adwords on their respective websites: https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policyand https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads?hl=en-US
Other third parties
Aside from our third-party service providers, we may, in certain instances, share your data if required to do so by law, including in response to a legal process such as court order, or to comply with other national, state or local laws.
Our Site may include links to other sites, content or videos (embedded or direct links) maintained by third parties (‘Linked Sites’). Adlens provides Linked Sites to you solely as a convenience, and the inclusion of Linked Sites does not imply endorsement by Adlens of the Linked Sites. Please be aware that Adlens is not responsible for the contents of any Linked Site or tracking technologies they may use.
Such Linked Sites are responsible for their own privacy policies explaining how they use and share your personal information. You should review the terms of privacy policies when visiting and using Linked Sites to make sure you understand how your personal information is being collected and shared.
In addition, we use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including a combination of encryption and IT technologies so that your data is processed, managed and handled carefully. Our procedures mean that we may occasionally request proof of identity before we share your personal information with you. These measures include storing the data on secure cloud servers, using encryption, usernames and passwords and regular backup, as well as contractual precautions with any third parties that might have access to the data.
Additionally, we do not recommend that you share your user details and personal data with anyone. We will never ask you to confirm your user details or personal data via email. If you receive an email claiming to be from Adlens asking you to do so, please ignore it and do not respond.
We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach. If we suffer a security breach which compromises our protection of your information, we will let you and any applicable regulator know about it where we are legally required to do so.
We, and those third parties that we share your personal information with, may host, store and otherwise handle that information in the UK (at our headquarters). We may transfer your collected data to storage outside the European Economic Area (EEA) where it may be processed for assisting us in operating our website, conducting our business or servicing you. We make sure that any transfer of your personal information outside the EEA is to countries that are deemed to have an adequate level of protection of personal data by the European Commission under Article 45 GDPR; or we may use specific contracts approved by the European Commission under Article 46.2 GDPR which give person data the same protection it has in Europe. By giving us your personal data, you agree to this arrangement. We will do what we reasonably can to keep your data secure.
We only keep your personal information for as long as is necessary in light of the reason(s) for which it was collected, and for as long as we are required to keep it by law. The actual period for which we store your personal information will vary depending on the type of personal information and how it is used. For example, we will only retain your personal data if you were previously our customers (including contact, identity, financial and transaction data) for six years after you cease to be our customer for tax purposes.
As a data subject, you have a number of rights. You can:
a) access and obtain a copy of your data by making a subject access request;
b) require Adlens to change incorrect, remove or delete data about you;
c) require Adlens to limit or restrict the processing of your data, for example where the data is no longer necessary for the purposes of processing;
d) require Adlens to provide your personal data to a third-party provider of services
You can access, change or remove all your personal identifiable information that we collect from you in the following ways:
Opting-out (Adlens Stop Contacting Me)
Promotional Emails: If you no longer wish to receive email marketing communications (known as “opt-out”), you can do so at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of these emails or contacting us. Alternatively, you can do the same by logging into your account. Unsubscribing will stop you from receiving most types of email communications but it will not prevent you from receiving some communications such as service messages, for example: email in response to a specific request from you.
Advertising: You can also opt-out of receiving targeted advertising from Adlens on other third-party platforms that you may be using (including social media sites such as LinkedIn and Twitter) by using the privacy features provided by these platforms or by contacting us at email@example.com. In making use of the audience targeting features provided by these and other platforms, we may review and process publicly available social media information about you (e.g. Twitter handles or other online identifiers). We make sure any information we use is properly credited to its source or is made anonymous.
Rectification and/or Removal of your information
If you would like to request the deletion or correction of any data we have about you, you can do so at any time by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org. To do so, we will take steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections where necessary to safeguard your privacy and security. Alternatively, you can request the removal of your information via your account.
You will not normally have to pay a fee to access your personal information. However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request is clearly unfounded, repetitive or excessive. We try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month. Occasionally it may take us longer than a month if your request is particularly complex or you have made a number of requests. In this case, we will notify you and keep you updated.
